Peace is something I actively pursue. I use to think if I had more patience, things would be more peaceful. That's not exactly true, initially. When asking for patience, more times than not, you will experience trials to develop patience. What if patience though, was God’s protection plan for you?
God’s Protection Plan: Patience? Luke 21:19 - In your patience possess ye your souls (KJV). By your [patient] endurance [empowered by the Holy Spirit] you will gain your souls. (AMP). In Luke 21, we see when we accept the Holy Spirit, through the Holy Spirit we will be able to endure all things we will face so we may be saved. What types of things will we endure with the Holy Spirit? Long suffering. Scripture states to live this life of faith, we are not avoiding harm. We are called to remain faithful, in spite of the harm we will face. Through patience, we are called to endure and not lose faith. Patience has been given to us so that we may gain our souls forever, so we may gain eternal life. We suffer because we accepted Jesus as our savior and scripture clearly tells us to expect to be hated because of this. If you see this as unjust, take a second and think about this: God was long suffering in dealing with humanity because of our sin. When we compare the amount of heartbreak and long suffering our creator must have felt in dealing with humanity, our suffering does not compare, especially in America. I am not saying our suffering is easy by any means, but I do want to help people keep things in perspective. God’s protection plan of patience has been given to us for spiritual survival. Patience is achieved when we are active, not when we are passive. We can be active in our pursuit of patience by prayer and study of patience. With this thought, I challenge you to study how God has been patient with you in your sin when you are in your time of affliction and trials. The way God was patient with you in your sin, is how you are to be patient with your problems. It is by the power of faith that we receive the Holy Spirit. It is the Holy Spirit that empowers us to have patience in dealing with our trials. We deal with our trials because we know there is an eternal peace we dedicate our souls to, through Christ Jesus. To let loose what is in heaven here on earth, I continue to pray peace in your life, by way of patiences during your tribulations. Peace. Talk soon & God bless, MG
