Born in March of ‘88, Matthew was the first boy born to Gilbert and Victoria Garcia. From Whittier to Pomona, Matthew has been a So. Cal. native through and through.
Matthew's parents were determined to provide exposure to a lifestyle and opportunities they felt they did not receive growing up. Two things incorporated in Matthew’s upbringing that have made a lasting impression have been the exposure to the arts and social justice.
Matthew has been exposed to multiple forms of art at a very early age and has trained in multiple disciplines such as; drawing, dancing, acting, writing, and various forms of production. Matthew was sent to Buena Vista Arts Integrated Elementary School, a school designed specifically for performing arts. During this time, Matthew was heavily involved in the L.A. audition hustle, booking work as a child actor with companies such as Disney and HBO.
Matthew would go on to find a fascination with production and figuring out how to make a project come to life from behind the scenes as well. Matthew graduated Claremont High School, skipping his junior year and launching right into audio engineering school at the age of 17.
He attended Citrus College and would graduate with two Associate degrees with honors. Later Matthew would transfer to Life Pacific College, where he would graduate Cum Laude with a Bachelor's Degree in Ministry and Leadership. At Life Pacific College, Matthew would continue to focus on developing his study of leadership, mentoring, coaching and counseling.
In 2013, Matthew officially founded Respect The Art Media, a brand that has been in development for over 10 years. The flagship project simultaneously that launched with the company was Sincerely, Me Vol. 1. This was Matthew’s first self-publication as a Producer and Author. Matthew is looking forward to expanding Respect The Art Media in the coming years.
His vision is to continue to create products that will empower and encourage people, provoking them to action.
