Money: The Love & Conscientiousness

Money and I have always had a funny relationship. I use to put a lot of faith in my savings account.  While when life happens and you see $0.58 to your name, you realize quickly your savings account can’t actually save you! Putting my faith in my savings was one of many mistakes I made in dealing with money.

Here are the 5 false teachings I had to unlearn about money.
  1. Money is Power - Money is a tool not power. It will always reflect the heart of a man’s desires.
  2. Money is Evil - Money is not evil. Lusting over it with no ethical integrity of how you obtain it can be evil but money itself, is not.
  3. Your worth is determined by your statement - Never associate your personal worth or value by the amount of zeros you have or do not have on your monthly statement. These never equate.
  4. I provide what I am worth - The market provides what the position you are hired for is worth. Again, this does not directly reflect a person's worth. Knowing who you are and your true identity is priceless. Once you discover what you are truly worth, no number will ever match the value of that truth.
  5. You must choose between money or ministry - You can be money conscious and not love or worship money. Never feel ashamed for focusing on your needs being met. Also, make sure you are properly identifying the difference between a need and a want.

Talk soon & God bless,
MG
