Faith Produces

I have been working on Sincerely Me Vol. 1 with my team for the last two years. Want to know something crazy? I had no money when I started this project. I had a prayer, a revelation, and an email. When you are trying to build something from scratch, sometimes all you have is a vision or dream that no one else may understand. There comes a point before you see anything tangible where you need to make a decision. You will have to ask yourself, "Am I going to chase this vision regardless of the outcome? Am I going to walk this thing out in faith?" Why am I telling you this? I want to share with you how I learned that faith produces.

This journey has been a roller coaster to say the least. When you realize you have faith, you will eventually have to apply it. This is what provides the ups and downs. I often hear faith is like a muscle, it needs to be exercised to grow. Well believe me, it's growing.

Stepping out on faith, I had made several contractual obligations that I was soon going to have to face, along with attempting to produce a book and several events. I prayed and said, "God, your word says you will provide and I believe this vision is from you. Why would you give me a vision and not the resources?" What I failed to realize at the time of that prayer is that the resources were coming. I thought it was going to be in the form of acquiring a new job. That was incorrect. What I believe He alluded to was to be faithful in the ventures I was already conducting at that time: booking graphic design gigs, finishing school, and finishing this book project.

The downhill slope of the roller coaster was steadily approaching. With my account not holding enough money for next month's bills, I asked for help, I asked for clarity, and I asked for a sign. Shortly after, signs started to manifest.

  1. A new graphic design job was waiting for me in my inbox immediately after this prayer. Coincidence?
  2. I never was one to believe those stories about money coming in the mail for people, until it happened to me. What was waiting for me in the mail when I got home? My financial aid check from school. Did I mention this check was over one month early from the scheduled date?
  3. I then get a text from a friend asking me if I would be interested in guest preaching at a youth service just days after my book is set to premiere. Did I mention these events happened within hours of one another?
  4. And because I am so stubborn and sometimes do not get it the first time, the next day I get another letter. My fourth sign. An anonymous letter and this is what it said: “Thank you for your continued obedience. Through all your hard work, obedience & faith, God has been able to do some of the most amazing things & yet you both have not even begun to scratch the surface. Please accept this as my step of obedience of pouring into you, your ministry and your life. Just a small token of what you pave paid into my and many other lives!” Did I mention there was a donation in this letter?

I am highlighting these things in this story to point out that if you follow your vision, your dreams, and commit, things will start happening. Things will align to get you to where you are trying to go. I am highlighting these things in this story to point out that faith does produce.

Talks soon & God bless,
MG
